Matt's work represents mis-remembered memories of places he's visited. Instead of the physical representation of the place, he tries to capture the emotions of being there. Though abstract in their nature, his memoryscapes have the power to trigger memories of our own journeys near and far.

‘Before the Light’ captures the quiet moments just before dawn, where the sky is still heavy with the last traces of night. Matt’s monoprint layers soft, muted tones to evoke the anticipation of the approaching day, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect on the delicate transition from darkness to light.

This is an original abstract monotype, sold framed set back in a box frame with low-reflect glass. Artwork framed measures 70 x 93 cm.
