about the artist
british artist andrew millar’s delicate artworks have a haunting and magical dream-like quality. gently glistening in the light from andrew’s hand application of metallic leaf sheets, his polaroid collages and large scale works unveil an imaginative world of iconic vintage glamour, female portraiture and representations of the natural world.
predominantly focused on the manipulation of polaroid film, andrew is an experimental and playful artist who uses of materials like paint, spray paint, collage and metallic elements to assemble a unique vignette, often incorporating found vintage imagery. dancing between reality and fantasy – these distinctive works of art are highly evocative and poetic.

in this glistening, magical vignette andrew transports us to one of his favourite spaces – the warren beach in folkestone. this area of geological significance is laden with chalk and clay which hold an abundance of fossils and it is here that andrew loves to explore with his daughter – hunting through the soft ground for the treasures stored below. through this portal we glimpse the two figures immersed in this landscape, under a silver and pink sky.

“forever be” is a limited edition, eight layer silkscreen print. it has been hand-embellished with precious gold, silver and marbled leaf, making it truly unique. the artwork measures 70 x 78 cm and is sold floated and raised on a soft white mount and framed in a black wood frame, measuring 79 x 85 cm.
