about the artist

a south london based artist focusing on lino printing, ellen has cultivated an intimate and therapeutic creative practice which asks us as viewers to explore the beauty of stillness. originally from california, ellen studied her bachelor of art history in rome and has taken inspiration from japanese ukiyo-e printmaking, greek and roman pottery and renaissance art. her serene, restrained and thoughtful artworks have arisen from an exploration of self as she searches for a sense of home in her own being.

“I lay under a cypress tree, bent from the power of the sea winds. Time has left its mark on this coastal shrub, a reminder of our inability to escape life's rhythms. I relsease my grip”.

this artwork is a signed and numbered limited edition of 11 linoleum print hand-printed on a sheet of japanese hosho paper. the image size is 20.4 x 28.4 cm and the paper size is 27.9 x 39.5 cm. this artwork is unframed, for framing enquiries please email johanna@artsnug.com.

as all prints are hand pressed, each edition will have minor differences - which adds to the character of the print.

we undertake to dispatch the artwork within 3 working days of receiving the order. there is a postage and packaging cost of £8 for the unframed artwork.
