about the artist

rosie emerson is a contemporary print maker and painter originally from dorset. she has lived and worked in london for 10 years and now resides on the south coast. her uniquely stylish, nostalgic and dream-like works draw upon history, storytelling, allegory and fantasy.

about the artwork

this is a limited edition of 20 photopolymer etching on heavyweight Southbank 310 gsm paper. The artwork measures 56 x 38 cm and the image size is 24 cm round. this print is unframed, please contact elina@artsnug.com for framing queries.

this circular photopolymer etching has been created by the artist at every stage. it is a montage of the artist's photographs, starting with a trapeze artist photographed in the artist's studio. the image was composed and then exposed onto a hand cut circular etching plate. each plate is carefully inked up individually, before going through the printing press.

‘aria', the accompanied solo performance in an opera, also means ‘air’ in italian. it is a fitting title for these brand new ethereal works, they work particularly well in pairs or a set of three.
