the artist

hooksmith press creates limited edition print runs of posters which are hand-crafted using a combination of traditional wood type and metal type. the work reflects  a slower time and a love of typography and the written word, with inspiration being drawn from 30 +years of appreciating and collecting kiwiana and other ephemera, and the artists own rural, new zealand upbringing.

the story

'this limited edition piece is purely typographical and is letterpress printed by hand, with a stunning and rare 1928 wood typeface made by delittle of york (series 289-colour printing).
