limited edition 25 original prints
about the artist
alice serafino was born in Pinerolo in 1980. after graduating from the scientific high school, she enrolled in the academy of fine arts and showed interest in photography, illustration and graphics.
alice is always looking for flowers, plants and insects, which she delicately collects. she aims to give them a new lease of life through her creativity and the use of sunlight.
"my love for nature comes from what I have seen and experienced since I was born - my dad is a biologist, and thanks to him, I have always dealt with plants and insects. growing up, I found my own way to work with them: as a child I used to build herbaria, now I make rayographies"
her current work explores the possibilities offered by cyanotype, a contact printing technique that uses UV rays to expose objects directly on the surface of the paper.
