the artist

matt's work represents mis-remembered memories of places he's visited. instead of the physical representation of the place, he tries to capture the emotions of being there. Though abstract in their nature, his memoryscapes have the power to trigger memories of our own journeys near and far.

the story

for this ethereal artwork, matt was inspired by the light glimpsed above a building opposite our very own central parade. the golden rays of sunlight gently caress the facades of the buildings, casting a warm, luminous glow that seems to breathe life into their brick and mortar. the cityscape comes alive, with each window pane and architectural detail catching the light's embrace. a captivating interplay of shadows and highlights which paints a mesmerizing portrait of this urban landscape.
