about the artist
mike stimpson is a photographer who has a great fondness for taking photos of lego. his work has been published in national newspapers in the uk, seen on bbc television, and featured in many magazines all over the world with subjects as diverse as german political culture and brazilian business news. he is a regular participant in legoland california's star wars days, and has had his work exhibited all over the world.
technical details
this is a recreation of philippe halsman’s 1948 photographic collaboration with salvador dalí entitled “dalí atomicus”.
this was rather difficult, and wet. it took two and a half hours to set up, and 15 seconds before the set was destroyed by the chaos that ensues when you turn a hosepipe on a carefully balanced scene.
it is available in one size - 420 x 297 mm (a3) and it is sold mounted to fit a standard 400 x 500 cm frame.
