the story
this view of the iconic william morris gallery places us in alice’s shoes as she sits under the willow tree – eyes fixed on the façade of the gallery. affectionately rendered - the shrubbery, trees and flowers seem to tilt towards the building – adding to a sense of grandeur and elevation. this peach toned building seems to arise from the very garden itself – connected to and surrounded by the constantly changing garden landscape. a contrast of chaos and order, wilderness and metropolis.
