the artist

johanna is a walthamstow based artist who usually explores contemporary portraiture and the female gaze. her large scale original works are created by pouring layers of diluted oil paint on a flat canvas in a series of translucent and fluid layers, rarely using a paintbrush. In this way the process is spontaneous and unpredictable - holding tension between the controlled and the uncontrolled, representation and abstraction.

the story

‘this artwork captures one of my favourite building facades in walthamstow. mother’s ruin is a gin bar in the ravenswood industrial estate, adorned with wonderful street art by Xenz. this unique piece of art always captures my attention and my admiration - i come back to it time and time again.’ - johanna

about the artwork

this is a limited edition of 50 fine art print measuring 30 x 24 cm. each edition is hand-embellished with flecks of 24 ct gold leaf. it is sold unframed or framed in a slimline aluminium oak veneer frame measuring 31 x 25 cm.

delivery

we undertake to dispatch the artwork within 3 working days of receiving the order. there is a postage and packaging cost of £8 for the unframed artwork and £15 for the framed artwork.
