the story
“when i think of walthamstow, i think of the wetlands. over lockdown, they became a haven for me and my family; a chance for us all to delight in the wonder of the natural world, and to rediscover a joy for nature through our children. bird watching became part of our routine; the excitement of hearing a woodpecker or the stoic, elegant grey heron were the highlights of our days. with this series, i wanted to celebrate the beauty of those birds, who unknowingly gave, and still give, so much to us, and to give thanks to walthamstow wetlands and all its treasures.” - dan
