Matt's work represents mis-remembered memories of places he's visited. Instead of the physical representation of the place, he tries to capture the emotions of being there. Though abstract in their nature, his memoryscapes have the power to trigger memories of our own journeys near and far.

‘A Place Like Home’ is a meditation on the blurred lines between memory and place, capturing the feeling of belonging to somewhere you may not have ever truly been. This monotype draws on the landscapes of memory - a mental space where comfort and nostalgia intermingle with elements of the unknown. Layering textures and colors, I aimed to evoke a landscape that feels both vivid and elusive, as if it exists just beyond the reach of conscious recall.

This is an original abstract monotype, sold framed set back in a box frame with low-reflect glass. Artwork framed measures 65 × 86 cm.
