about the artist

For local Walthamstow artist Helen Chambers, each painting is a journey of discovery. As she layers paint upon the surface she is continually responding to the ever-changing palette, marks and textures before her. The natural world is her anchor and she employs an expressive, intuitive approach to mark making – taking the finished works outside the boundaries of realism. Her landscapes sit in that intriguing space between abstraction and representation – vibrant and immersive.

‘Rose Coloured Sky’ beautifully embodies its name, presenting a sweeping landscape of soft pinks and deep greens that dance across the painted surface. Helen employs a variety of painting techniques to capture the dynamic grace of the ever-changing landscape.
