the artist

a bristol based printmaker, anna harley’s eye-catching landscape prints have a stark freshness and graphic beauty. her influences are varied and reflect her nomadic childhood, an arts and craft background and connections to places like scandinavia and japan. each print-making journey is one of discovery, and she enjoys letting the process lead the artwork – embracing happy accidents and unexpected results along the way.

the story

while anna’s artworks often feel familiar and universal to us all, they are often deeply personal to her, tracing parts of her story. this artwork was based on an ash tree in her garden, from when she lived in the countryside just south of bristol. situated on the boundary of her garden and her neighbour’s, this piece has become a wonderful reminder of a much-loved space. the colour combination glimpsed beyond the branches evokes joy and harmony – the rising sun slowly filling up the space with bright, lemon yellow.

the artwork

this artwork is a signed and numbered limited edition of 25 screen print on somerset satin paper, printed to the deckle edge of the paper. the artwork measures 76 x 56 and is sold unframed. for framing enquiries please contact elina@artsnug.com.
