originally from singapore, cassandra yap is an artist and art director based in london. her work often explores the juxtaposition between dark and beautiful subjects to create the surreal. fuelled by her love of pin ups, the female form and an unhealthy obsession with vintage erotica, her photomontage halftone style images are dark, bold and humorous with a kinky edge.

“the curves of your lips rewrite history.” Inspired by the oscar wilde quote , this artwork is a homage to women who have well and truly left their mark on history and those who continue to change the world.

the glossy highlights on the lips reveal inspiring, strong women like frida kahlo, greta thunberg, maya angelou, michele obama, hedy lamarr, coco chanel, malala yousafzai , marie curie, jessica ennis and rosa parks.

This limited edition of 100 2-colour screen print measures 42 x 59.4 cm (a2) and is sold unframed.
