about the artist

originally from singapore, cassandra yap is an artist and art director based in london. her work often explores the juxtaposition between dark and beautiful subjects to create the surreal. fuelled by her love of pin ups, the female form and an unhealthy obsession with vintage erotica, her photomontage halftone style images are dark, bold and humorous with a kinky edge.

“the curves of your lips rewrite history.” inspired by the oscar wilde quote , this artwork is a homage to women who have well and truly left their mark on history and those who continue to change the world.

when there have been so many amazing women that have graced this planet, cassandra had to make another edition of this fantastic print for us. this second edition features a powerhouse of women from past to present grace hopper, anne frank, dorothy levitt, emmeline pankhurst, virgina wolf, gerty cori, vivienne westwood, jane goodhall, serena williams, yayo kusama, mother theresa, aretha franklin, valentina tereshkova, dolly parton, florence nightingale, naomi parker and angela davis.

This limited edition of 100 2-colour screen print measures 70 x 50 cm and is sold unframed.
