the artist

anna’s minimalist mark-making is like poetry – each brushstroke and splash of paint carefully considered and deliberate – laden with meaning and purpose. a London-based artist, she most often works with water-based medias on paper, raw canvas and wood – the organic properties of these materials shining through. transformation and japanese aesthetics are key areas of focus, with influences from the zen philosophy ‘ma’ and shibumi principles.

the story

the subject matter to anna’s collection ‘light’ is the luminosity and shapes cast by the morning light. created during lockdown and through the black lives matter protests, they also convey a sense of hope coming through oppressive darkness.

This is an original mixed media painting in acrylic, oil pastel and graphite on raw canvas and is sold tray framed in a pine tray frame measuring 73 x 125 cm.
