the artist

a bristol based printmaker, anna harley’s eye-catching landscape prints have a stark freshness and graphic beauty. her influences are varied and reflect her nomadic childhood, an arts and craft background and connections to places like scandinavia and japan. each print-making journey is one of discovery, and she enjoys letting the process lead the artwork – embracing happy accidents and unexpected results along the way.

the story

here anna transports us to a beautiful lake near her summer house in sweden. a space surrounded by birch trees, the name literally means ‘the birch one’. these incredible trees can often be found at the edge of the forest in sweden and anna is enthralled by their stubborn colonisation of any open ground. through the foreground trees we even glimpse them rising from the tiny island in the middle of the lake – inviting us to travel closer and surround ourselves in their wild and magical embrace.

the artwork

this artwork is a signed and numbered limited edition of 30 screen print on somerset satin paper, printed to the deckle edge of the paper. the artwork measures 56 x 56 and is sold unframed. for framing enquiries please contact elina@artsnug.com.
