the artist

a bristol based printmaker, anna harley’s eye-catching landscape prints have a stark freshness and graphic beauty. her influences are varied and reflect her nomadic childhood, an arts and craft background and connections to places like scandinavia and japan. each print-making journey is one of discovery, and she enjoys letting the process lead the artwork – embracing happy accidents and unexpected results along the way.

the story

this tree is one anna drove past for years, long before she was a full-time artist. she would catch sight of it from the car each day, whilst on the way to teach at a local secondary school. reminding her of the 1957 children’s film ‘the singing ringing tree’ – anna imbues this tree with magic using metallic gold ink. she conjures the piece using a combination of drawing, placed image and a photographic screen exposure – translating a repetitive emblem from her past into an evocative artwork that feels familiar to us all.

the artwork

this artwork is a signed and numbered limited edition of 30 screen print on somerset satin paper, printed to the deckle edge of the paper. the artwork measures 56 x 56 and is sold unframed. for framing enquiries please contact elina@artsnug.com.
