The Artist

Eva Ray Studio is the creative space of Laura Brown – a fine artist based in Whitstable who channels her love of pattern and colour into dream-like, gentle and distinctive pastel artworks. Highly inspired by her time living and studying jewellery design in India, Laura’s work sings of the aesthetics of spaces like Jaipur and Kerala, whilst also drawing on her coastal surroundings in Kent.

Laura’s "Poppy Fields" is a touching homage to the enchanting poppy fields of Kent that never cease to amaze her.

The painting beautifully captures the striking contrast between the lush green grass and the bold crimson poppies, creating a mesmerizing scene of nature in all its glory. Her attention to detail and skilful use of pastels, bring the scene to life, evoking a sense of peace and tranquillity that can only be found in the midst of a blooming field of poppies.
